We routinely assist our clients with Investment Agreements, Commercial Contracts, Licenses, Distribution Agreements, Shareholders’ Agreements and Joint Venture Agreements. Our Commercial and Civil Disputes Team have developed effective dispute strategies and provide sound advice and creative solutions, taking into account practical and commercial considerations in negotiations directed towards pre-empting potential or actual disputes. We advise on contractual, construction and, land disputes, banking and financial disputes, tortious disputes such as medical negligence claims, defamation, commercial litigation, minority oppression, building and construction disputes, corporate litigation, debt collection, corporate and personal insolvency, landlord and tenant disputes and applications under the Companies Act. In each of these areas, our firm emphasizes early, frequent and responsive communication with you about the facts of a case, the legal issues, various strategies and cost, and seeks to handle cases realistically and pragmatically often with the use of alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration where feasible.
Our Employment law team provides comprehensive legal advisory services relating to employment issues and legal representation in employment disputes. We represent both employees and employers in advising on labour laws, employment terms (including stock option plans and employment benefits) ,staff policies for employees, restructurings and redundancies, summary dismissal and wrongful termination. Whether you require advice on employment issues arising during restructuring, for expatriate relocation or secondments, for mergers and acquisition, wrongful termination and summary dismissal matters, post-termination issues relating to restraint of trade and garden leave matters, we are able to provide you with comprehensive legal advice on the same.We also assist in negotiations, terminations or resignations, and in litigation. Wills & Guardianship

We analyse and implement asset protection strategies to help our clients plan for their families’ future welfare, and help to simplify the process of the distribution of your loved one’s estate in a timely and cost-effective manner. We are able to assist with the drafting and execution of Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney and Court applications such as for the resealing of foreign probate, the grant of probate and the grant of letters of administration.
Through our mediation practice, we attempt to settle all disputes amicably. This approach is both cost-effective and provides our clients with their involvement in arriving at creative solutions not ordinarily available in the litigation process. Some of our lawyers are accredited mediators in Singapore and overseas and have extensive experience in mediating disputes. In mediation, a mediator facilitates the discussion to help disputing parties arrive at a mutually acceptable agreement. The parties are able to save on time, legal costs and minimize the stress from having to face resolving the dispute in the Courts.
Our financial technology (“fintech”) team is staffed by lawyers with experience in financial regulatory law, including securities law and general corporate and commercial law. Our fintech practice encompasses the structuring of operating and other entities in Singapore, drafting terms and conditions for participation in token generation events and initial coin offerings, privacy policies, escrow agreements, SAFTs (Simple Agreement for Future Tokens), disclaimers and information memoranda. We also provide advice on compliance with Singapore laws, Know-Your-Client (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) requirements, and the regulations administered by the Monetary Authority of Singapore including those pertaining to securities and funds. We offer a one-stop service to clients by working closely with foreign lawyers from other jurisdictions such as Canada and across Europe and the United States in relation to the securities laws and regulations of their respective jurisdictions and have been working with multinational clients from different countries on a varied range of blockchain and cryptocurrency/token related protocols and applications.
